    I wish I could sleep... but I didn't hear the dryer go off and I forgot all about i therefore the bed sheets are wet and I get a good yelling to for 10 minutes... guess I'll be sleeping in the other room tonight...

    my evening has come to the point where my two activities are posting in this thread and going through my itunes playlist making sure all the artists are uniform so that it doesn't make a bunch of different groups of the same band when you upload onto an ipod.

    I've been up all night - again. I've stripped my old CD player down to find out what DAC is in it, and to work out if I can salvage any bits from it to make an external soundcard for my PC.

    Having stripped it's guts out and found out which DAC was fitted(rather unexpectedly, it's the same setup as some very expensive Marantz gear that was out at the same time[1993]), I've put it back together. It's skipping - a little less than before I had it in pieces, but still skipping. It wants a new laser pickup, which is around a tenner. But I can't be arsed spending any money on it - I've hardly used it for the last 4 years, and I'd use it even less in the next 10.

    Gave all my discs to my sister a few weeks back, but I've found some ropey old copies and have them going through it at the moment. It sounds fucking brill! I'm quite tempted to just buy a laser, sort it out, and pack it away for some nostalgia listening in 20 years time.

    I'll be like those silly folk who keep harking on about how good 8-track was, and how vinyl sounds so much better than the digital bollocks we put up with today. :)

    How fucking anal am I? People are getting back from their holidays. Others are getting back from being pissed up. And me - I stayed in on a Saturday night, with some milk, pringles and chocolate. I've had schematics open for various ICs, and my CD player in bits.

    Bah. And to think that in a few hours time I'll be riding up to see my Grandmother, on my bright pink bike. I had no idea I'd turn out to be such a boring bastard :).
