Anyone know what qualifications you need to become an art teacher?

    You can do it by doing an art degree then doing the year teacher training course...altho i think theres other ways to do it

    I reckon you'd also have to be pretty good at it, because (unless things have changed since a few years ago) it is difficult to get a position as an art teacher.

    :yes: thats true, its what i want to do and i've heard it very hard to get that job.
    Im doing a BA hons Fine Art degree now, then hopefully my PGCE afterwards.

    Does anyone know if you still need that GCSES Eng, Maths and Science?

    You'd need that or equivalent to be a teacher, if I remember rightly.

    Or a SCITT?

    Go through the TDA website (I think it is www.tda.gov.uk) and they will give you all your options.
