    I got my middle name because "it's what most Nicola's have as their middle name* :eek:

    My parents only chose to call me Nicola because it was a popular name at the time and they were sick of arguing over what they wanted to call me. Nice to know it was a important decision in their lives :thumb:

    I barely use my full two names though, only on forms, and debit cards etc, even then it'll normally just bring up my middle initial over the name anyway. :)

    I have a double barrel first name, which is usually confused as my middle name, but I also have a middle name too.

    I always find it weird when peoples' names turn out not to be their names.

    Once I was trying to find an old family friend, who we always called Auntie Ann. Then my mum informed me her name wasn't even Ann it was Patricia. That'll be why I couldn't find her then.

    And the woman who used to live next door to me had a kid called Charlie. One day, out of the blue they were all calling him Adam. When I asked why he'd changed his name I was told Adam WAS his name. Confused? I was.

    I don't have a middle name, so that's one less thing for me to deal with. :D

    I have two middle names (because I'm part of the aristocracy :yeees: ) and I use one of them when I don't want to tell people my real name.

    my cousin is called katherine eleanor maud *insert lastname* and i've always grown up calling her katherine but her mum calls her eleanor. confuses me.

    i use my middle name when i want to sound posh. it's lucinda katherine don't ya know! :D

    I only ever use my middle name on forms, etc. Not because I don't like it (quite plain - Helen), but just because it's rarely used. Never used by my parents or anything - sometime I think they forget I've got one!

    My Grandad is Wilfred Donald, but known as Don to everyone.

    And, my boyfriend's middle name is his Dad's first name. Another one!

    I've got 2 middle names, used to get called one of them more at school because it was different, no one had ever heard it before either. Plus the fact that it's Polish made it that little bit more special to me I guess. Now it's just plain Rich to everyone.

    It all makes sense really if I write it down...

    Boyfriend's Grandad = David
    Boyfriend's Dad = Michael James

    Boyfriend = Christopher Michael
    Boyfriend's Brother = David James

    I've yet to work out where Christopher comes from, I think that might just be a choice by his mum.
