one of the drivers has just come into the office with a little baby bird that fell onto his van, it seems ok, but its only a bit of a baby, is there anything we can do for it or should we put it out of its misery?

poor little thing.

we've got it in a cardboard box with some filler at the moment so its comfy, but you can tell he's hungy.

we've tried giving him some maggots, but not interested

once you have touched it its kmum wont accept it back as she no longer recognies its smell.

you could take it to the rspca or a local animal shelter or something?

Exactly what I was going to say. Or at least phone them for their advice.

    Poor thing :(

I'd give the RSPCA a bell, they'll know the best action to take better than us, I reckon.

Try giving it some seeds if it won't eat maggots?
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
what sort of bird does it look like. Not all birds eat grubs.

Get some seeds and fat balls.

Or some soggy bread, it is easier for it to eat.

    Keep it warm too.

Found a Baby Bird feotus in broken egg shell on our garden path in the back yard - obviously a nest in roof anf it fell. :( Poor little thing.

I heard somewhere that you shouldn't feed birds worms etc, especially the little ones. It might make them sick!

You've really got to stop this Turlough - it's highly offensive and there's no need for it. Fair enough you don't like animals but that's no reason to be so dis-respectful.
