Help with browser windows

whenever I click on a link my browser opens up a new page rather than using the same one. It has only started happening this afternoon.
Any ideas?

    with basic HTML, it depends how the link is written, should it say <a href="address">link</a> it should open in the same window, but if it says <a href="address" target="_blank">link</a> it'll force a new window to open (with default settings in IE)

    but there's probably a setting that's changed if everything's opening a new window! :)

    That can happen when you have a key stuck on the keyboard too.
