I love mineral oil!! It disolves ear wax so you never have to use a qtip or anything icky and is the only thing to make my hangnails go away oh mineral oil

However it is labeled as a laxative so try in your pharmacy area of any store that has one by the laxatives and other similar products.

Baby oil is scented mineral oil. The only other kind of commonly used mineral oil I know of is gun oil.

    HTH.

Well, its rather random but i need to syringe it up my elderly guinea pigs arse! His bum muscles have lost their elasticity and his bum gets impacted. This is to make the squeezing out process more comfortable for him!

Had a quick look at various sites and cannot see it. A lot of them said 'available at your local pharmacy' so maybe it is worth trying there. Or if it is really for your pet (trying not to be gullible) why not try at the vets.

Don't they do that to dogs too? They need something helped along, I guess, thats why dogs drag their bums across the carpet?

Nope thats anal gland impaction, dogs with this have to have the glands squeezed and it squirts across the room

does he squeak when you squeeze him?

Is it satisfying if you get a big bit of poo out?

Nope, he doesnt even struggle, although he is an exceptionally friendly guinea pig.

Its satisfying when it pops out in a solid ball rather than having to pick it out with tweezers.

    Hahaha!!

Its so funny when people get grossed out because it doesnt bother me at all, after all, he's only been eating hay and stuff like that

Humans on the other hand, filthy creatures with much worse smelling poo!

    ROFL.

The grossest thing is when a dog eats string or hair or something and then the poo hangs out of their bum and you have to pull it out with a doggybag :yuck: :sour:

that properly turns my stomach, but sometimes you just gotta do it

    *sorry Miffy*

And this is why I wont have any pets until they find a way to genetically modify them so they dont bathroom.

Mineral oil is cheap engine oil. Go look in Asda or Tesco - you'll get a litre of 20w/50 for under a quid. Not sure if it is suitable for a guinea pigs bottom or not though... ;)

i'm the other way round. depending on the animal, of course. cat poo is utterly horrific. dog poo isn't great.

but small animal poo is totally inoffensive.

Oh wow! You made 'bathroom' into a verb! I'm impressed :p

I agree with Kaffrin - rabbit, guinea pig, hamster poo etc is fine. Rabbits eat theirs again anyway so the second time around it literally is just hay. That is, until you get a stupid rabbit (Fat Daisy) who won't eat the pellets in her food and all her poo sticks to her bum so I have to cut it off. Sorry Miffy!

It's just me, I don't do animal type thingys, not just the poo! I'm just not an animal lover.

I once told my mum I wanted to be a vet for a laugh and she nearly died. :D
