    Dont tend to use codec packs, I just install codecs seperately to help compatibility (although I know it is rare for codec packs to cause problems)

    i installed some massive codec pack but i use VLC to paly things and it comes with tonnes built in. Basically, if VLc cant play it, its not a file.

    Yeah, I install mine seperately. Installed a set once, and whilst it played DivX encoded videos (I think it was), it struck a lovely green line down the right side. So now I install seperately to ensure nothing buggers up anything else.
