i think it was lib dems that won, it usually is round here. and yes i did vote, for lib dems i would rather trust charles kennedy than blair or hague (not that it really matters about him any more)... and the lib dems had things i agreed with more than the other 2. like abolishing tuition fees for one my mum voted conservative and my dad always does. not sure about the county council tho... mum DID vote lib dem last year, and didnt tell my dad, i dont know how he'd react if he knew heheeh...

I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.

you're obviously thinking of someone else!! or perhaps you're weirder than i thought

labour one in my constituency - fat candy atherton thundering to victory, supported by local bakers (from whom she makes a fortune). shockingly, mebyon kernow failed to get a single seat - in fact, none of their candidates gained enough of the vote to reclaim their deposit. oh well, cornish nationalism is dead for another parliament then

she's not wierd, just has an odd taste in men. (calvin, hobbes, tony blair...anyone see a pattern?)

way back when we had our messed up american election the bad guys won here in north carolina (republicans)... which is so not a surprise. Jesse Helms (arguably the most conservative man on the planet) is our senator...

'fraid you got suckered on that one, GFM. Look at Scotland. Although you don't pay immediately, you do pay fees after you leave and reach a certain salary level (which as I understand it, is v. low). You still have the debt to pay eventually...

    Nothing for nothing in politics...

As for my area. Tory scum, I'm afraid. It is one of the safest scumbag seats and has been so for over 100 years. It's always nice to know that I leave in an area where my vote makes no difference.

Also, have you noticed that in our wonderful electoral system we have a govt with approx 60% of the seats, yet less than 30%, of the voting population, voted for them.

In fact a greater percentage of people didn't bother to vote at all, than actually voted for labour.
