Hi, just wanted to agree with the others, you should definitely go to the doctor.

I just wanted to point out that there is a big difference between fully blown acne and teenage spots. Yes, most teenagers get a few spots, but the rest of their skin is usually clear. Acne is when a whole portion of your face such as cheeks/jaw/forehead or maybe even all over, is red, angry, bumpy, and doesn't go away.

I used to have horrible acne on my cheeks and jawline, from the age of about 12-15. It affected my confidence a lot, and it's all very well saying it's all in someones mind, but until you have had it, and had complete strangers looking at you in disgust, you don't really know what it's like.

I got medication for it and although my skin still isn't perfect (at 23) it's far better.

Also: there is a cream called Freederm you can get over the counter, that's quite good and doesn't male your skin sore. Cutting out junk food can help too.

I've lost count of how many times you've posted that.

It made sense before a number of posts were deleted from the thread. It wasn't just a random post.

And yes, I'd say to the OP to go to the doctor and get them checked out.

You're so right, unless you've had severe acne you just don't know how it affects your self-esteem. I once overheard a couple of people make some nasty comments about the state of my face, it wasn't very nice.

I've cut out fast food stuff to try to get rid of the acne, and as an added bonus I've also lost nearly 3 stone in weight.

Are physical problems a hinderance to a meaningful relationship? I suffer from a really spotty complexion on my face, back and chest. This inhibits me from trying to form a relationship with a girl as I feel so unclean. I feel as though anyone would immediately shy away from me in disgust once they'd seen my body. It really restricts my life and I feel so lonely.

What might put people off is the thought that they see you have a problem and perhaps think you're not doing anything to solve it.

What have you tried to get rid of the spots apart from cutting out fast food?

3 Stone is a hell of a lot of weight to lose.

I've had medication prescribed by my doctor, seen a skin specialist and I've had heat ray treatment but none has worked. I've cut out sweets/chocolates, fried foods, increased my fruit intake, showered twice a day but to no effect.
I'm trying to find if there is any alternative remedy.
