Not enjoying the course or location of my uni. Have re-applied to new ones through Ucas with the hope of starting over but applying to go straight into 2nd year which I think will be hard. Waiting to see if I get any interviews...hate waiting around! Just worried that if I get a place at a different one that I wont enjoy it again like my current one! Am really starting to wonder again what I really want to study/do in life and I feel I really shouldnt be continuing to do this at this stage. Am 20 and guess feel the pressure is really on to complete some type of degree whether I enjoy it or not. If I dont get a place I will most likely take a gap year, but do you reckon it seems to late to be doing this? Am stuck.

well what is it you don't like about your current course.. and what location is it?

The course is very broad. Think I need a clearer direction. Its located in a really small university, in a small and quiet place. Makes me go nuts. Im definately moving back to London at the end of this uni year. I made a really bad choice when I picked it. All I ever do is complain about it, feel like such a moaner. I guess at least one thing has come out of it, I know Im a city girl for sure!

Not all from what I know friends of mine are studying. One Im on is way more than most. Just cant see it leading to anything.

ok then.. well i don't blame you for wanting to move from a quite place because that would make me go insane too. however, are you sure that london is the right place to go? i've heard that university life is very different there because there is less of a community and people go to uni and then go home and don't socialise with other students.

    what are you studying?

uni courses need to be quite broad in most cases as so many students will have different interests in the course.

Yeah there is that side to London about people just going home at the end of the day. I did experience that last year when I did a foundation course in London, but I made some good friends as well who Im still in touch with. So I think it depends. Anyway Ive already sent off my ucas form. Studying Arts+Media, now trying for Fine Art.

well if you're not happy then no point in staying, i guess.

but don't you have artistic license so to speak with your course?

Yes thats true I do. I guess its probably more the place. Or else I may find I dont even wish to study Art in the end. May end up doing something completely different eventually I guess. Could find some really obscure degree to do if I dont get a place this year instead, maybe something History based.

have you been in touch with your local connextions?
Or there must be someone at the uni you could talk to about career advice even you teacher/s

No need to be noisy but where are u studying?
You can always find council sites telling you whts on and about in your local area. I guess going from london to anywhere will seem boring. Plus London costs so much extra in fees.
    Good luck
