    Mine does this from time to time too, no matter which of the mice is plugged in. I can just leave the mouse alone, be typing my latest post for TheSite, and suddenly, the pointer starts moving upwards. And it's always upwards, never down, never left, never right, always up! Why? :confused:

    Because its a mouse? Mice don't walk backwards or left or right. They only go forwards in the direction their bodies are facing.

    I think it's the fact the mouse (I'm using one with a ball in it now) simply moves because the table isn't exactly the smoothest of surfaces. I've got to use that, as the mouse mat is completely sodding useless.

    non smooth is probly better for an optical mouse anyway

    unless its a ball mouse and theres a 10degree or more angle on the table, explaining the random movements :p
