Always Totally Alone

Hi
I think everythings getting to me at the moment.I just feel totally alone and isolated from everyone and everything.Wherever I am and whoever Im with Im always alone,at the birthday dinner I had saturday for my 18th with family I still felt totally alone. Its just that everyone else has someone to talk to and lean on and trust and Iv got nothing.
Iv got all these things inside that just keep tearing me up and Im always putting a brave face on when I just feel like collapsing and crawling into a corner.
Im always alone because I still havent got a job and now Im old enough to go out clubbing and stuff I havent got anyone to go with.I cant talk to family and dont want to talk to a counsellor (there is a reason).
Oh well,Im 18 and a "man" now arent I so I better just pull myself together and get on with it.
I might post something that isnt totally depressing one day but this is the only place I feel ok letting things out a bit.

Catch you later

    Hey Leaf

Sorry to hear you're feeling down at the moment. I know sometimes it can seem like everyone around you has got someone they can open up to and lean on when they need it, but it's important to remember there's loads you can do to improve your situation when you feel like that.

This article on TheSite.org might give you a few pointers to start off with.

You could also try volunteering or getting involved with some clubs or groups in your local area - our sister site contains thousands of volunteering opportunities searchable by post code, it can be a great way of meeting new people.

    Take care :)

    Hi there,

You could always go out more, which will mean meeting new people :) You'll make friends, and then be able to go out clubbing and just do what friends do.

Do you have any interests or hobbies you could join a club with?
I hate to say this but i'd imagine the only person who can really help you in this situation, is you.
May i ask what reasons you have for not wanting to see a counsellor? they can help a lot of the time, i've not had to see one myself but i would guess that they are the same as strangers you make friends with, some you get on with, some you dont.

Look at what your interests are and try to get yourself involved with a club or a group. It will become easier to gain confidence in yourself to socialise once you meet people with interests that are similar to yours.
