These shoes can't do your feet any good?

I've seen alot of these 'ballet heels' on shoe sites recently. But the idea is taken from pointe shoes from classical ballet...which you need years of training to be able to wear. And theres these with just a heel for support...i know they're more for show than walking in but don't you think someone could do their feet some serious damage, especially if they have weak ankles? The smaller ones are the most worrying as there isn't any ankle support (which is what the ribbons are for in pointe shoes or else you can break your ankles). You'd also need some form of padding...it's just worrying that people without much knowledge of what these shoes are based on could wear them and do some damage.

What do you think? Would it be safe to wear them? (i'm not wanting any btw! i have REAL ballet shoes :p)

    Definately not safe to wear them! If we were meant to walk around on our tip toes all day we wouldn't have heels. You would really be risking your legs if you wore them, like you say ballet dancers go through years of training, and even then they wont be working like that for long periods of time.

    I can see someone sue-ing the manufacturers when they break an ankle. :rolleyes:

    Seriously!!! WTF, god I would break my neck if I ever tried to wear those, most of my heels are 2.5 inches or less.

    They look like "ballet" toes from the outside but I don't see how a non-ballet trained person could wear them unless the outside appearance is somehow a deception.
