to be fair, burnley has a undeserved reputation, ive lived in places which have a better reputation, and theres just as many fools.

Burnley is quite a picturesque place, countryside 5mins in any direction, people dont just get kicked in here for no reason, theres usually a motive...and just like any town it has its fair share of coqs.

but please dont judge a town till you've spent more time there.

its one of the few places where ive been walking through, and felt endangered, and it might well have been for some reason, but for nothing more than the group in question ont liking hte look of me

God, no, too many random questions on the boards at the mo...

Incidentally, is the meet before Easter? I gave up alkee-hol for Lent and can't remember when Easter is this year!

 People have already booked time off work and bought their tickets by now.

I'm going to buy my tickets tonight anyways when I book the hostel for us all :D

JST, you know the saver returns? Do they have a limit on them? As in, can they become sold out as I just thought it was a standard ticket as I've always got them.

If so, I will definately buy them tonight.

Nope, they are a walkup fare, and cannot sell out. I'd advise you to buy them in advance from a station so you can request a seat reservation too :)

Can you not book a reservation online?
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Yeah you should be able to! Thought it automatically does it?

I think those are a little expensive for some people Stephy. Have you not found any others that are cheaper?

The cheapest I've found in London before was about £11, I'll try and find which one it was...

EDIT: I can't find the exact one just yet, but when I was looking for cheap places to stay in Central London, I came across StudyStay. It's a website catering for students, but anyone can use it. There's a search tool to find different places, try using it here and these are some of the ones on their books. Not sure if they're ideal, just some suggestions.

Ok, I hope no one has booked anything yet hostel-wise, because I've just been told I'm going to see a play at the Old Vic that night. :hyper:

So I won't be staying out/over, I'll definitely pop along for a few drinks during the day though!

I'm feeling a bit uneasy about booking this hostel and putting down a deposit because lots of people keep dropping out.
  • JsTJsT Posts: 18,268 Skive's The Limit
Should be able to. If not you can book online without a reservation and get the station to do it before if you have the ticket. You may be lucky and have a train thats not too busy, ya never know.

those are for ten people. you just click make a reservation and pay 10% which is the deposit. but is there not ten of us now?
I was looking at the Journey's Kings X last night, same company as the Waterloo one, it looks alright.

    What about this one?

    http://www.hostellondon.com/availability.php/HostelNumber.521

How many people do we need to book a bed for?
  • JsTJsT Posts: 18,268 Skive's The Limit
    Is everyone staying over 18?

I dont like the sounds of 'photo ID' either. Most other hotels stating photo ID means Passport or Driving license. Dont know bout everyone else, but I dont have either.
