Yet another Prom Dress thread..

Do you guys think it's okay to wear a shorter, less structured dress to a school prom?
It's just that I've still got quite a petite, girlish figure, and I'm pretty pear-shaped, so classic dresses look like tents on me. I guess a simpler dress would also give me better options with accessories and bling, which I love..
I went for a browse with my mum a few weeks ago, and found I look a lot better with either an empire line, floaty gown, or a shorter, flirty dress with a ruched/fitted waist and handkerchief hemline.
Anyway, can I have your opinions on the following? I don't think any of them are too revealing. I'm not planning to have my tits hanging out all night :yuck: though I am getting a deep tan.

i personally dont think theres anything wrong with having a shorter dress for prom.
at my prom there were at least 10 girls wearing short dresses (this is out of about 40!) and i would say a lot of their dresses were a lot nicer than the longer ones!!
its all about personal taste. if you want a shorter one then go for it
I wouldn't wear that style of dress, but if it's what suits you then go for it! There aren't any rules when it comes to dressing for a school prom, and if you feel you look better in a less-structured, shorter dress then it's better you wear one. You don't want to be unhappily swamped in a big poofy frock if it's not your thing.
The nice thing about buying one of these is I'm more likely to wear it again and get my moneys worth. I doubt my mates will be wearing their big poofy corsetty things more than once or twice. And they spent at least £180 each on theirs.
I think I'd feel a sense of achievement if I manage to do my prom outfit on a budget.
And I think I could counter-act any sense of under-dressing by oomphing it up with jewels etc.
A couple of them are auctions that end tomorrow, so I may end up bidding on a couple, and then deciding once I've tried them on. I can't keep my eyes off the first, I'm such a magpie!
Just make sure it's not too short, i know you wanna stand out an all but i took my brother to his prom the other day and the girls with short dresses on looked cheap and awful compared to the others (even though they were pretty girls!)
Time is ticking
Anyway... I like the 5th one best out of the ones you posted.
