I think Steven Byers was a good guy - just was out of his league in the spin game.

I guess what's more interesting is the concept of did he fall, or was he pushed? It does seem very convenient for the government, and the flowery praise and No. 10 platform is unusual? Or am I just being too cynical...?

I just hope he can crack the railtrack whip and finish what Byers started in October. I had to laugh at reporters last night referring to the "effective nationalisation" of Railtrack. Er, its just been put into administration. There is a big difference between that and nationalisation. For one thing the government is paying large sums of money to the administrators to keep things ticking over. This limbo needs to be ended as soon as possible.

I'm not sure about Prescott getting more action again either - isn't it his ten year plan which recently got savaged?

And is Paul Boeteng really any good?

Doesnt really matter to be honest...notice how the news has said absolutely nothing whatsoever about his abilities..All they are focusing on is the fact that hes the first black cabinet member...Who the FUCK CARES.

He will now be seen as token, especially since they got that twat from the CRE to make comment, gurbah singh..

My experience of him is as Labour's rent-a-minister. Any obscure area, he is minister for. I've seen him speak simultaneously as minister for prisons and minister for young people (I think those were them). How are they linked?
