I remember a few months ago, I read in one of the newspapers a quote by Frank Lampard. I think he said "ticket prices don't reflect how much we're paid" or something like that. Yeah, right. Who was that greedy bastard at Manchester United who refused to sign a £100,000-a-week contract cos he wanted £120,000?

Tak about greedy. All they do for 90 minutes a week is kick a ball around and some want £120k just for that?

You do feel sympathy for him, don't you? I mean, we have students who are struggling to finance university. You have families all around the country scrimping and saving to get by, to pay their council tax, to get the food on the table. He only has £100,000 a week - he can't be expected to get by on that, can he?

Not with a BMW or 12, a Mansion, servants, and an expensive Girlfreind to maintain, no! However would the poor fellow cope?

I dunno. But any footballer in a majour league earns more money than it seems they can spend.

I honestly don't follow it that closley. I only ever notice when it hits the headlines (as it often does, nevermind people dieing in a war somewhere.)

Football is an industry now. They're getting those prices because they can. Fat bastards sit in offices for £4 Million a year doing nothing. Shit happens. Get over it!

Which would you put on the front page of a newspaper? Troops and civilians being killed in an Iraqi bloodbath, or roasting scandal with gay footballers that can't be named. Which one sells the paper? :(

Well, exactly. I'll be very worried when the Telegraph leads on stories about roasting.

Good. Anything that means football doesn't get its greedy hands on yet more money is good.

Walmart getting its mits on more money isn't exactly great, either.

I might wear a football shirt (for bed, or to clean the shower) if it didn't have some company's logo or other on the front. Surely they should pay the fans for all that free advertising. :p

Do you fancy Tesco getting it, then? They're bound to try and undercut Asda on this.

definately. football shirts are overpriced; no doubt to fund the players wages!

I'm pretty sure players don't get paid for internationals.

Maybe the players could give their wages for one game to charity. Somebody would make a fortune.

Looking at it from that perspective, maybe you should give your wages from one week to charity as well.
