^Aye, but I mean the original proper one. Proper songs have electric guitars and drums 'n stuff ;).

I'm a fan of Thin Lizzy, but Metallica did a superb cover of Whiskey in the jar. Feels much more crisp and punchy than the original, but I guess it is quite a lot newer... the original is 30 years old!
    It's O.K. I guess.

i thought they did it better than iron maiden, though some may disagree

noooo way, iron maiden could do it again, and better but the original still pisses over cradle fo filth version IMO

Happy Mondays - Step On (although I do prefer the original)

    Yeah, it's a cover.

The original was by a bloke called John Kongos, very good.

With a Little Help from my Friends - Joe Cocker

It's amazing how often people have done Beatles stuff better than they could.

Jeff Healey Band's version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is fantastic...

Am I the only person who thinks Nine Inch Nails original of Hurt is better than Johnny Cash's cover?

It's so much darker and more raw, and it's all about drug abuse which plagued the band. I just mentioned it in the other thread about songs that can make me cry.

aye, bohemian rhapsody would be a stupid choice to cover as a band. however the Flaming Lips have done it, and while its not as good as the Queen version, its still a pretty good effort.
