they tend to give you three months to start with, then if there are no problems you get 6 months at a time.

Really? I've never known anyone onlny get three packs at a time, and not one to start with...but saying that, I only know people in my area.

We got three months to start with, and then six at a time... but if you change pill, you get three to start you again :)

Well when i 1st started it it was at like a clinic for teenagers and they gave you like one pack to begin with and you had to come back for check up's, then once it was ok they gave me 6 once. But now i get it from my own doctors and i just ring up for a repeat prescription and they only ever give me 3 packs.

you're supposed to go in every 6 months for a blood pressure check.

me too, but it's not just cause i'm lazy, it's also cause getting an appointment at my docs when you're not at death's door is like getting blood out of a stone. 'he can see you 6 weeks on friday?' :banghead:

When I first started the Pill, they gave me 3 months worth, just to try. I think after that they gave me another 3 months worth.
Now I get 6 month supplies and have blood pressure check every 6 months.

I thought that but last time i went (in August) after being on the pill for 2 years he said he's putting it on repeat prescription so i just get it from the chemist every 3 months and come see him yearly every August!? Suits me fine cause like everyones said getting a doctors appointment is so hard, and the chemist is just round the corner.

Yep exactly... and the receptionist at mine is thick...

"Oh no, I can't come at ten on Thursday, I'm at college all day."
"COuld you come at half ten?"
"..... No.... I'm free on Friday though"
"We have one at half 2 on thursday afternoon..."
    "NO.... F-R-I-D-A-Y"
    "How about Monday then?"
"DO YOU HAVE ANY APPOINTMENTS ON FRIDAY?"
"Oh yes, one at 10am, one at half 12 and one at three."

.... I did it during a break at college... My mates were absolutely hysterical.

Yuppers with Kaffrin. I get 3 months at a time, then the pharmacy can call the doctor and get an ok to fill it for 3 more months, then they make me go in and get the BP taken.

Can't you just see the nurse for getting blood pressure checks/ getting the pill?

blood pressure checks yes. getting the pill, no. not sure what the offical rules are, but at our practice the nurses are not allowed to prescribe.

wouldn't make it easier for me anyway, cause my practice is overrun with old people, and they're all having blood tests every ten seconds. you're quicker to see the doctor.

Oh. Okay. Just thought I'd mention it because here that's what we have to do and the nurse can prescribe it and its much quicker to get to see one of the nurses than the doctors.

    Sounds annoying for you :grump:
