    Kizzy was normal sized dog.
I think she must have been crossed with a standard poodle.
I think a minature poodle might have had technical problems *loving* a labrador

I wonder what a poodle-boxer cross breed would look like.

    Or a poodle-alsatian.

The labradoodles are really cute (just lots on google image search at lots of them)

It's a shame that you're all so interested in buying pure bred dogs when there are thousands of dogs in rescue centres desperately needing new homes.

Yes, because everyone who says "aww thats cute" automatically wants to buy one.

Those names make me cringe. What happened to creativity?

Saying that we like them or thinking that they are cute is different from actually getting one though. If I was getting a dog I'd definitely go a rescue centre for one. My friend on the other hand shows Basset Hounds, so breeding and pedigree is important. Not that I'm getting a dog, I'm more of a rabbit person :p

if i were pedantic enough, i'd want to point out that they're not pure breeds. they're cross breeds. but i'm not, so i won't.

that aside, i don't think everyone on this thread is going to go out tomorrow and buy a fashion dog. i already have my ferrets. and yes, they're rescued.

They may be cross breeds, but they're cross bred for people who want a 'couture' dog.

As for rescued animals, the first two rabbits we had were rescued and that bloodline still runs strongly through our hutches ... with a bit of new blood from the occasional pet shop of course. my Fat Daisy x

are you ignoring the fact that labradoodles can be found in rescue shelters all over the country? just like pure breeds? IF someone wants a specific pure breed or cross, it doesnt mean they are getting one from a breeder. Pure breds end up in rescue centres far more than mongrels do.

    rofl.

to be honest, i think labradoodles are about as far from couture as you can get. although it would amuse me to see paris hilton et al try to carry one of those in their handbag.

they're cross bred cause they look cute and it reduces the amount of genetic disorders that purebred dogs are prone to with all the inbreeding and whatnot.
