My housemate is vegan, so i try it everynow and then. It takes a while to get used to, but you do. I wouldn't want it in tea or on cereal given the choice though. Used in replace of milk as an ingredient, i can't tell the difference.

get the sweetened one and its fine.
The unsweetened one tastes like shit.
I actually really like the sweetened one just as a drink, and i prefer it in tea to normal milk, although not in coffee. Its fine in cereal too.

    Nice if you're lactose intolerant.

    Otherwise. :yuck:

99% of the time I buy Soya milk (usually Alpro, if that makes any difference whatsoever). I'm the opposite of rainbow brite though, in that I can't abide in in tea, but I do like it in coffee (and it makes gorgeous milky coffee, yum). It is so much nicer on porridge ( :yum: ) than cow's milk, and ain't bad on cereal either. I'd drink it as a normal drink too, so I use it much in the same way as "normal" milk.

On the odd occasion I've had to use it in cooking, it didn't taste any different, possibly better.

(When I don't buy soya milk, my preference is definitely for Goats Milk rather than that of a cow. Though I kind of know what you mean, scarlett  )

I drink it because I don't react well to large quantities of normal milk. I think it's ok. The unsweetened stuff can be a bit cardboardy.

THe same as soy milk, but with rice instead of soy (i have no idea), but my mom drinks it and I had it in my cereal once and it was quite tastey.

Same here, but I don't think the unsweetened version is that bad - never tried the sweetened version though.

My dad bought a carton when he was 1st diagnosed with high cholesterol and I tried a bit and hated it I think I'll stick to cows milk.

rice milk is yummy. its got a naturally sweet creamy taste - really nice. Bit more expensive than soya milk though i think.

absolutly not. It isn't even milk, it's juice, the only reason it's not called "soy juice" is because just saying it makes you want to gag.

I know that. But it doesn't matter to me that much that I can't have milk - I've had this problem on & off since I was born. And it has become easier; I just have to be very careful what I eat and drink.

"Soya" is exactly how it's pronounced in greek too. The word that's pronounced like "Soy" means "family" (but it includes grandparents, 2nd cousins etc).
