    England : The Who
    Ireland : Thin Lizzy

I'm not aware of any good bands to have ever come out of Wales or Scotland. Anyone who says Rod Steward will receive an e-slap.

Radiohead for England by a mile.

Anyone seen Q this month? They did another 100 greatest albums. Radiohead got 1st and 2nd spots, another in the top 10, and a further one in the list overall. 4 out of 6 albums considered among the 100 greatest, so I was happy. :D Not bad going.

Music's probably one of the things Britain is best at, to be honest. We've had most of the best bands since the 60's.

    Precisely the reason I don't buy Q.

Not my favourite magazine to be honest. Didn't they give Oasis' third album 5 stars then suddenly change their mind when they realised no-one agreed? But the interviews are good.

This was voted for though anyway, so I couldn't care less. They're not only content with being the best rock band in the country, they're also the best electronic band.

I think you've just proved my point. Q.E.D.

    Don't think so.

Phil Lynott grew up in Dublin despite being born in Birmingham. I'm pretty sure they're Irish, ie. from Eire rather than N.I. The song Emerald is a good clue.

I know Eric Bell and Gary Moore were from NI but I think the band's roots lie in the Republic.

    Scotland - Belle and Sebastien

    N.Ireland - Divine Comedy

    Wales - Manic Street Preachers

England - Rolling Stones (although, personally, it'd be good to split England into regions because it's that big and diverse).
