That's a good thing... Being a pessimist, I expected it to come the other way, like most bad things do.

    Good news indeed.

If you're loving parents and your kid can trust you, you will be told anyway. This does not affect good parents and protects vunerable kids, good all round.

This woman needs to be asking herself the real question "Why didn't my daughters tell me?"; as should all parents, if your daughters won't tell you independently, then you need to be wondering what you're doing wrong, not why the law won't force them.

Excellent news. Though I'm pretty certain when my parents see this on the news tonight, they'll be absolutely outraged.

    good!

imagine the amount of people who wouldnt go to a clinic because they'd have to tell their parents, it would just make things worse!

I don't think it's got anything to do with abortion. This is about parenting, and FORCING your child through law to "trust" and "confide" isn't good parenting.

Thank fuck for that, now she can maybe concentrate on looking after her own kids instead of trying to interfere with everyone else's lives.

    Good.

And now she should be forced to do 72,000 hours of unpaid community work for Marie Stopes just to teach the bitch a lesson.

Aladdin, linking to a Sky News story? You feeling OK?:p
