Is this the first step towards cloning all the worlds greatest criminals, just so that they can be put on trial?! Jurassic Park IV - Osama's Revenge!

Does anyone think that the US actually have got their man? Or are they preparing in case something crops up in the future?

LOL..I can honestly say I never thought theyd try to clone him, thats quite an imagination you have there mate...Surely they cant clone him from family DNA.

I dont believe hes dead..The US has to make sure just in case. They wouldnt try and make out that hes dead if he really wasnt. Cant think of a worse scenario than them announcing his death and then him popping up a few weeks later calling the US liars.

I dont believe for a minute hes in Afghanistan anyway.

Youre on a run of posts tonight aint ya MOK

    I'm bored.

    Here's a good story...

Do you reckon the show should go out? Is this an example of over sensitivity like we saw in the Gulf War when certain songs were taken off playlists..?

I think it shouldn't be shown, it's bad enough seeing it live, being made to watch it over and over knowing someone you know died inside is a bit cruel.

3,000 people died. The potential audience in the US alone is 270m, with another 50m over here (if we buy the rights).

How many do you think will be related, and don't these people have an 'off' switch?

Oh come on, this is the American media we are talking about. Theres no chance in hell that they wont show it...They will milk it for all its worth, as will our networks. As if anyone ever doubted that this whole thing would eventually be commercialised.

It will also serve to renew the vigor of the American people with regard to the war against terrorism. They need to keep it fresh in peoples minds..As long as they have the support of the American people, the opinions of the rest of the world dont mean a damn thing.

True, I'm surprised they haven't started marketing official WTC mugs, or pieces of rock from ground zero or something.

Although I bet in 10 years time they will auction a chunk of blood stained concrete for $10 million. Wouldn't surprise me really.

I don't think the programme needs to be censored in this way. Lets face it, anyone who would want to watch the documentary would have seen the footage on the day, so their sensitivities to the act itself are irrelevant - it's not something you forget in six months.

The only problem I would have is that they are unlikely to have anything new to say about the issue - its dominated the media since day 1. So it's more of a synopsis, and in that case they have commercialised the whole event, as you guys said, and that is not on.

WTC mugs? Blood stained concrete?? come now - we Americans arent as capatilist as you make us out to be.

As far as the documentary is concerned, its a valid piece of journalistic history. So long as it retains its qualities as a documentary as opposed to "Extreme Suffering Cams" popular with reality TV, I have no problem with it.

Besides, like all TV - if you dont want to see it - turn the friggin channel

I remember seeing reports here of street traders in NY, in the weeks following September 11th, selling pieces of rubble from the building. Its already happening, but not for millions.

    Sorry you are actually

Like Vox said people have been selling bits of rubble already, and they put the price of flags up to caplitalis on the patriotism

    But...

As someone rightly pointed outin the Guardian the whole reason you are fighting the war is to protect your way of life ie capitalism so it seems hypocritical to condemn people for acting capitalistically even if it does seem tasteless
