    im getting 80p more than the minimum wage for my age (18). and at the end of may ill be getting £1.31 over the minimum wage!!! so im not complaining! <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/biggrin.gif"&gt;

    i was 16 and getting £2.75 for working in a shop which is pretty shitey really... and a chemist paid £2.50 for evening work and they actually specified they wanted students,of the gcse type im thinking coz no one my age would settle for that!

    Well seeings as I am under 18 and there is no minimum wage im quite happy getting 30p more than the minimum wage for a 21 year old.

    Well i get 46p over the minimum wage for 18-21 yr olds & i'm 16!
    I hate my job though, they treat me like shit & i woz told @ my interview that they would give me time off coz i got my GCSEs & i work Thurs & Fri evenings & all day Sat! I told them i didn't wanna do Thurs ne more & they bascially told me tough shit ur doin them so now guess wot.........I'M QUITTING!! I only have 2 give a weeks notice & they are really short staffed but fuck them!
    Soz just had 2 get that off my chest!

    anyone know what the minimum wage is for under 18s, and also under 16s. im 15 and im gettin 3.33 an hour in a butchers, but my mate is 16 and works in superdrug for 2.50 an hour. i also hav another mate who is almost 17 who gets 2.44, i mean thats just peanuts, litearlly

    i only get £1.50 an hour

    am 15 and i work at a hairdressers 2 days a week but i only get paid £1.50 an hour! it's practically penuts! and i only work 8 hours a week! so not fair! what do you fink?

    This thread is so old. If you want to comment on something said then make a new thread. You shall just get flamed. Oh, and read the forum guidelines etc before posting, that way you won't look stupid and post posts in extremely old threads.

    Secondly, yes, it is crap. But you are under 16 and therefore not entitled to a minimum wage.

    eta: noone is making you work there, are they? so you can't really complain. assuming you want to be a hairdresser when you're older, it'll be good experience.
