im currently in my 3rd year at UCL doing chemistry if many of you dont know

1/3 of my lab course which is worth 1 unit out of this years 4, is going abysmally, well the 1st 1/3 went quite well and i got an A, but the work in tomorow, i've odne virtually nothing for it, simply because i just don't get it anymore, this lab in tomorow is for statistical mechanics and i have nothing to say ive even attempted it, other than the fact i keep seeing my professor about it - and frankly its pissing him off now :(

theres far more to do i just cant be bothered anymore :(

dont think i'll do a 4th year now :( i can get a 2:1 lifes just making it hard for me

have you spoken to other people on your course? maybe they can help you and help explain things you dont understand. chances are it's not just you that's finding things hard.

Just think of it like this:

You've come this far and invested all this time into studying from school to sixth form to uni (or whatever route you took) and you will NEVER do it again. Why stop now and waste all that time? only to look back in years to come and think "damn". I bet its hard mate, but its worth it, its clear you can ace a first. Ignore the whispers in your head and plan out what to do, stay calm and just do the best you can!

I really struggled with chemistry last year.

I didn't pass enough course units to do a fourth year (MSci) for my course anyway so am forced to do a BSc and leave after this year. Actually I'd already decided that I didn't want to do a fourth year at UCL anyway. My second and third year are equally weighted and last year I averaged a 3rd and only passed 2.5 couse units (out of four) but they let me pass on aggregate with my first year in which I passed 3.5 couse units.

Do you want to go into chemistry?

Because if you don't then I don't think the MSci is worth the extra time, effort & money. In many ways you are better off doing a MSc in something more specialised than a MSci, should you feel than you need a qualification beyond a BSc.
