So - he's been nominated for two awards for the Paedophile thing he did..
should he get them?
Did his programme show us up and make a valid point or was he totally out of order?

to be honest you could just say the word paedophile in a comedy programme and there would be a great fuss.
I understand what he was tryin to do with the programme but it didnt work because it just wasnt clever enough and fell short even of stupid

Do you really think so!!? or are you repeating what you've read?

He didmake valid points about how crazy uneducated people get - to the point where they try to burn down a paediatricians house because they think she's a paedophile.

At the time the programme was made things were so out of control in this country as far as awareness of the paedophile problem goes and I think he was spot on.

I thought their was far to much fuss over that programme, i watched it, laughed here and there and thought nothing more, only until the media band wagon got on the case was it blown out of all proportion. It was typical of the rest of the series, yet people highlighted that one, paedophiles are a disgusting bunch of people, but he didn't glorify them, nor did he encourage him - much ado about nothing

However i'm not sure it merited an award

I feel the same as Eb...I watched the show, I thought it was pretty funny and I laughed. I wasnt offended at any of it and think its just been blown massively out of proportion..

I dont think its a work of genius though..People seem to be going to both extremes about that program. It was reasonably funny and pretty accurate to life but it wasnt a work of genius.

He did feature in "I'm Alan Partridge", so respect is due.

It was funny, but not to an award winning standard.

Most ironic thing is the reaction it got was just as over the top as he was suggesting...thus making the joke for him...

Yeah, they did excatly what he was taking the piss out of. I wouldnt mind but that programme is about 5 or 6 years old.

It was funny, it was witty and incisive, but I dont know about award-winning. Comapred to most 'comedy' on the telly at the moment it probably was genius though.
