I want to kill myself

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I want to kill myself every day. I keep thinking maybe tomorrow will be better, but it isn't. My friends seem to not want to be around me any more. And they are the only people i know at my school.I have no talent what-so-ever. I feel alone all the time. I have told my friends that i want to kill myself, but they don't seem to care.

Yep, it does sound like it could be depression. But suicide really isn't the answer, it might seem like no1 cares but im sure plenty of people care alot about you.
So don't hurt urself and maybe you could go 2 a counsellor or doctor like Drifter suggested?.

Take Care,

Don't look at things so much in the short term, it'll only make you feel worse - maybe tomorrow won't be better, but in the future things won't always be like they are now. You won't believe me, but it's true.

I'm not ruling out the possibility of depression, but what you've described is quite like the way I used to feel (which I never had diagnosed as depression). The way I found to overcome it was through willpower, trying to think positively during particularly low times.

Good luck, and remember you can always talk to us about the way you feel

when i was at school i used to feel the same as you, i had 2 friends i used to hang about with but one day i fell out with one of them and she made my life at school a living hell. and the worst thing was, when she was giving me a hard time my other friend just laughed. everynite i came home and cried and thought of killing myself. i dont actually know what stopped me from doing it but now a few years on im glad i didnt, im at college now and have some good friends and my life is generally better. so wot im basically trying to say is that you wont be at school forever and u will move on and make new friends and you wont always feel like this. life does get better. i wish you all the best of luck and remember we are all here to help you whenever u need us

Almost everyone goes through a suicidal period in their life, so dont worry, you're not alone. I once thought like that too, but my problems stemmed from my parents separation when I was younger which led to a lot of my friends leaving me cause they didnt want to be around my house. It was very depressing, but as you can see, I didnt choose suicide although I thought of it a lot. You know, despite thinking of suicide, I always knew that things would change when I grew up. I looked at my situation, and realized "Hey, this is bad, but it wont last forever" Eventually, my problems will fade in time. Hey, I got a whole life in front of me. A minor thing like this isnt going to make me kill myself and deprive myself of a great life ahead. Like having a family, finding a career I like. That was almost 8 years ago. Now, i got a girlfriend I luv very much, I'm about to graduate from university in marine biology. Things havent been better, and it never would have happened had I picked the easy way out of my problems Just hang in there man

Under normal circumstances, I'd report this thread and get the mods to close it. (it's four years old after all) But this is too important for such trivialities. Can you explain why you regret not killing yourself?

Suicide is not the way out. You will upset a lot of people. Think of how your parents and relatives will feel. I once went through a really bad patch, I had no friends at school, I was being bullied by people that used to be my best and closest friends, I used to hide in the careers room where no one went at break times and i never ate any lunch, my grades suffered as a result and things were bad at home - i blamed myself for my parents divorcing even though I was too young to remember it happening. But I made an effort to talk to new people at school and soon made friends, I spoke to a teacher and he put me straight on a lot of things I had been worrying about unneccesarily like my parents divorce and I soon became happier, my grades picked up and my last two years at high school were great.

Maybe you are going through a lot more than what I did but there are always people worse off in the world - my eyes really were opened to this when i went to India and did some tsunami aid work - I spoke to one man who had lost his home and all his possessions, his wife, son, daughter and brother. He had nothing left at all but he kept going and was gradually starting to rebuild his life.

Please don't do anything drastic. Speak to a councillor or phone the samaritans like satehen suggested.

Take care x

Nope.

Don't you realise that you're annoying a lot of people here at thesite? Is that really what you want? I'd stop now if I were you, as there's still hope.

You're still pathetic you know.

Hmm..an idiot.

Idiocy is committing suicide.

Nope, idiocy is telling someone who is obviously distressed enough to post here their problems to go and "top themselves". How useful :/

If you can't offer anything constructive then don't offer anything at all because with attitudes like this you will be banned. Simple as.

OP, you need some help. Now. If you are in the UK call the Samaritans. Talk to a friend, don't be alone. Find someone to be with. Make an appointment at your doctors or just go straight to a&e.

Seek help. Please. And don't listen to this troll.

If you want to chat, PM me.

Right, now that we've got rid of him shall we get back to Carlton's original post...

You don't give us much information about your situation or why you're feeling this way but I'd like to be bold enough to say that it's always possible to make your way out of how you're feeling. It might not feel like it right now, it might take a long time and a lot of effort, but it can be done.

If you haven't got a friend or family memeber you can talk to and try and help you out, there are other people around that can help. Like other have said, calling or emailing Samaritans could really help you in the first instance.

Here are their details for you:

Samaritans
Confidential help for anyone who is experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.
Web: www.samaritans.org.uk
Tel: 08457 909090
Email: jo@samaritans.org

This article might also help

If you can tell us a bit more about your situation, too, we might be able to give a bit more specific advice.

Take care :)

You people are too sensitive.

Help in words

Hi,
I hear you. I read a novel called 'Somewhere carnal over 40 winks' and it helped me a lot. Especially, it opened my eyes to see the bigger picture of life. I hope this book gives you the answer you are after or something even better.
