Then please tell us what your personal viewpoint actually is! You are in the habit of pointing out our foibels, not realising that it takes a lot of guts to state your personal beliefs to hundreds of people and be able to take flak for it.
So pray, tell us where you lie. Or are you sitting on the fence?

As for combat, it's always funny that the soldiers and leaders on the losing side can be tried for war crimes such as murder, but those on the winning side can't.
I wonder what penalty the American and British leaders would have suffered if we were put on trial for killing 200,000 civilians with 2 bomb blasts over Japan?

No really, what is the difference in both cases you are killing an innocent "human"

Thanatos, would you fire missiles at a (suspiciously WTC shaped) building knowing that you would kill maybe 3000 civillians if you were ordered to by your superiors in the army?

Never served in "the army"...

Within the MARINE CORPS... Affirmative.
Refusal to obey an order within war brings an instantaneous "courts martial, sentencing, and execution of sentence"... otherwise known as A BULLET IN THE HEAD. Service within war is about complete discipline, not choosing which orders you agree or disagree with and how you choose to respond to them. Orders are not for debate; they are to be followed to the letter!
But you already knew that, correct?

Have not stated a position on abortion because I have no iron clad position.

What I was pointing to was the blatant hypocracy of claiming that it is immoral for the state to end a life for cause, but justify the individual to end a life for convenience...

Frankly I don't think that argument holds much water, just because they are not recognised as an "army" doesn't mean they don't think it, the same argument has been used against the Taliban but they controlled most of their country, surely they were a proper army, the same argument could be applied to the UN peacekeepers or Nato troops.....

No, I don't live in a place like that, and yes I do accept responsibility for my actions. If you knew everything that was going on you would know that. But of course you jumped to conclusions YET AGAIN.
Accepting responsiblity is one thing, dying is another.

We can argue until the ends of time, but it is obvious that capital punishment is simply not a deterrent. Despite the threat of death, people still murder, they still rape and they will still defy the law.
Please don't try and contradict me, because if it was the all magical solution you think it is then people wouldn't commit crime.

Whowhere who really cares if it deters anything? A lot of americans and I dare say euros not liberally brainwashed would agree - who wants to pay for some pig to be clothed, fed, sheltered and afforded medical care. For ME thats what it comes down to.

For me to pay for it in some weird way is in fact supporting murder, rape, child molestation and terrorism (yes I beleive rapists and child molestors should be shot). Its not revenge, its what's morally the acceptable thing to do.
