Confused about sexuality (but not in the way you might think)

Indrid ColdIndrid Cold Posts: 16,688 Skive's The Limit
This has been bothering me for some years...

I'll begin here: Since male genitalia don't turn me on or anything, one thing that seems clear is that I'm not gay or bi, right? So it remains to be seen whether I'm straight or asexual (I've heard such people do exist).
Breasts do turn me on, and a lot actually. So that would mean I'm straight? But female genitalia do nothing for me either, so then what? I'm asexual? But if that's not why, then one could say that the reason female bits don't turn me on (whatever that is) is the same one that male ones don't either, so I could very well be gay or bi and the simple reason I don't think so is that men have no breasts.
But then again, maybe not...

Can you make any sense out of this? Cause I can't.

se i think breasts are gorgoues and as a straight girl, this cuased me some grief in my teens thru worrying what it meant but I know I would hate to have to go near lady bits. maybe its because boobs are pretty!I wouldn't worry too much about what it means, just enjoy whatever happens whether its man woman or nothing! I dunno, I am sure someone will provide you with a more useful answer with links etc!

umm.. are you a virgin? do you have a sex drive?

the reason i ask is because when i was virgin, willys etc didnt turn me on. its only because now i associate it with pleasure that i get turned on.

    hmm.. i duno sorry!

Yes, and I don't really know what "sex drive" means.

Could be a reason, I guess...

I don't find either male or female genitalia attractive. I doubt many people do. I'm not a virgin but looking at a scrotum or minge does nothing for me.

    I totally agree.

I don't find the genitalia of either sex particularly attractive, and would probably go as far as to say I find penises (peni? :p ) quite horrendous-looking. The mere idea of a it doesn't turn me on at all, though I guess it's different for (some) men with respect to looking at "erotic literature"...and for some women too, I'm sure. It may make me weird, but I find hands much more erotic, and you can find them on both men and women :)

Your sexuality has to do with a lot more than which gender's sexual organs you find more attractive/more of a turn on. I'd generally consider a vagina more attractive than a penis, though it has no bearing on my own sexuality. I don't get turned on by the mere thought of either; they'd have to be part of someone who I found sexually attractive at large.

I don't know if any of this makes sense, and I'm sure someone will have a much more lucid answer for you, but I do think you're analysing things too much (not always a bad thing, but..). You find attractive what you find attractive, you'll definitely know it when you see it...be it male, female, vegetable or mineral :)

I guess I had the wrong idea, based on your replies. I guess that makes sense. Thanks.

Hmm, but: I don't find them attractive even then. Though I guess that's still because I'm not you.

Female genitalia are only sexy when you know how the bits work. They're not attractive in and of themselves, whereas breasts have inherent beauty. So I agree with lipsy.

I dont think its too good to worry over what it means. As somebody else said, just go with the flow, whatever you feel it right and you enjoy.

I find women more pleasurable to look at than men. Sometimes the thought of a woman turns me on more than a fella. But when it comes down to it, im straight- ive only ever slept with men and have been in a relationship for 2 1/2years.

Some people may consider that as being bi, others straight, but it doesnt matter really. Thats me and its how i am.

I don't like the look of the female divot either...I prefer the breasts and arse.

Who do you wank off over? Women?

    I wouldn't worry about it.

I personally find women attractive and am most definitely heterosexual. However, I have absolutely no sex drive whatsoever. I do not think about girls I meet in a sexual way - in fact sex rarely crosses my mind. I do not look at porn, watch pornos, or anything like that. I appreciate the beauty of the female form, but I can't say they turn me on (it only happens very very rarely).

Now, it has been said to me that I am possibly asexual, but I haven't put much thought into it. The point is that I'm happy with how I am. I don't worry about everyone else, and what they get up to. I get abuse from mates because I'm not out every week desperate to pull, ogling women, and bragging about conquests....whatever. As long as you are happy with yourself then there is nothing to be concerned about. If not, then obviously you need to spend some time learning about yourself. If it is just a low sex drive issue you might consider going to the doctor, as they can help on that front.

One other point worth mentioning is that everyone finds different aspects of the gender they prefer attractive. In my case I find the lower back and hands very appealing. With so many body parts to consider there is no reason why you have to specifically find the genitalia appealing. Also, remember that it isn't just about the "bits". The last girl I went out with didn't appeal at all when I met her (I purely viewed her as a friend). However, I found that I could talk to her all day, she was very feminine, intelligent, caring, etc. It wasn't until I was in bed with her that I really considered her attributes. Yes, seeing her naked was appealing, but it was the whole picture and not specific body parts that got me going.

most peoples genitals are gross. You try working in a hospital for any length of time and youll soon work that one out *heaves*
on the other hand, if someone is sexy in themselves, or you find them attractive as a person, then you probably wouldnt find their genitals repulsive, or at least Id hope not.

im a virgin and the thought of a guys bits kind of scares me a little, but its only because im not really used to doing overly sexual stuff with guys
doesnt mean im bi/gay which i know im not, or that i'll never have sex
i think once you know how it feels you appreciate it more?

    I agree.

Generally though I think that the female body is much more attractive than the male, but that doesn't make me bi or a lesbian.

yes it does, you lezzer :p
I think a fit and toned body whether male or female is highly attractive.

As a straight guy I find female genitals quite disgusting to look at, although when i'm with a girl I love it's not something I really think about. It wouldn't put me off them.

Breasts can be great to look at, although I have seen plenty that I wish I hadn't :yuck:
