My EBook

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Under my documents shows up this folder called my e books. I don't put it there, there is nothing in the folder. I delete it but it comes back. What is it? Why is it there? how can I keep it from coming back?

My eBooks is created by Adobe Acrobat Reader, from version 6 onwards.

Every time adobe loads (also every time you restart your pc) it loads certain plug ins, including one called "ebook.api". What you have to do is move ebook.api from:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\plug_ins

    to

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\optional

    and then delete the folder.

If you have version 7, change "Acrobat 6.0" to "Acrobat 7.0"

    All the best

Surpisingly it does. I have a nice clean my documents. Everything has a folder, even if its just one item in there. Its a folder I just dont want as it screws up the whole look i'm going for :p i'm such a dork.

And thanks piggy. One day I shall take your advice and rid myself of the annoying my e books forever.

Right click on the Folder -> Properties. Check the box next to "Hidden" and that'll hide the bugger. Problem solved.

Not if, like quite a few people, your settings are set to show hidden folders...

You have to have this sort of pre-emptive logic when you work in IT... you never know what the user of said computer may have done to it...
