What sort of sex book are you asking about?

"How to give great cunnilingus!" could have its advantages, but I always end up laughing at erotic stories, because they always have phrases like "he slammed his 18 inches of throbbing man meat into her tiny wet prawn bucket, and pumped her full of hot white freshly prepared baby gravy".

a manual type thing for someone who really isn't very experienced.

If you can forgive the dodgy 80s afros (actually, they add to the experience) then The LOvers Guide video is mildly interesting. And yes, I know you said book, I just haven't ever found a decent one.

If you're buying for a bloke who is inexperienced and you are/want to be intimate with him, I think you'd be better off spending the money on a nice hotel room and take the time to educate him your way. It'll be more satisfying in the end.

lol. not for me i'm afraid. it's for someone else and i don't think his wife would like me to do that!
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Just out of interest, why are you buying a sex manual for someone with a wife?

not buying, was asked if i could reccomend one. very religious people, both virgins til their wedding night and things aren't working out as they should, so was asked if i could help.

Ah, I see, was a bit worried there.

What exactly is the problem though? Is he not adventurous enough, or is he too inexperienced for her liking or is it something in the relationship?

I doubt a book is the solution tbh.

I think the Lovers Guide video might actually help them, to be honest.

Their upbringing probably is a problem, actually- if you've never been exposed to sex, then how are you supposed to know what to do? I'm sure they've grasped the mechanics, but that doesn't make it fulfilling.
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Yeah maybe. But let's be honest - it ain't that hard to be imaginative without the use of a video guide.

they literally know nothing except the basics....masturbation is considered wrong so neither knows what feels nice for them to tell the other. some Men seem to have enough trouble knowing where to find the clitoris when a woman has shown them, let alone one who is with a mrs that doesn't know herself...

i find it sad that their religion has ment that they have been so restricted they can't even show each other what turns them on as they simply don't know.

i personally think that if you don't know yourself what works then how can anyone else?

i will suggest the lovers guide anyway, thanks people.

So does that technically make you a vagina whisperer?

when i was err, in-experienced i don't think a book would've helped. i'd say they just need practice.

agreed, but practice at the right things, not spending months wondering.

    Aww.. that`s so sweet :)

I`d say forget the book and get them a DVD

or they can join one of those online DVD Rental stores and rent lots of them .. about 3 at a time for month for 10 pounds I think

But it is if you've never had the stimuli to fuel the imagination.

I think videos rather than books would be the best bet, as they can see it in action. But not pornographic videos, because they teach nothing.

As much as anything, they need their imaginations to be fuelled. They need some stimuli to work on, to work with. It doesn't really matter too much what it is. The sex pages in More would work just as well.

as long as it shows him where the clitoris is he'll be happy.
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Does he really not know how to find the clit?

How the hell can he miss it?
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Does he have access to the internet? You can't miss it!

Mildly irrelevant silly fact for you...

I'm sure they've grasped the mechanics, but that doesn't make it fulfilling.

In actual fact, one of the first things I learned at Medical school was that out of the couples that present themselves to the GP complaining that they can't conceive, ~60% of the time it is a male infertility problem, ~30% a female, and 10% of them just aren't doing it right.

    Madness.

God that last 10% must feel like this :banghead:
