periods and nausea

Over the past few months I've been feeling really sick right before my period, I know this is common when ovulation occurs but it's really getting me down and I dread it happening every month. What I wanted to ask was, has anyone got any suggestions to help me stop feeling so sick all the time and would the doctor be able to give me anything or would I be wasting my time? Thanks for any help

You could certainly see your doctor for advice.

General tips for nausea are eating ginger, milky drinks and peppermint tea.

Kentish's suggestions are right - best bet is to see your GP first though.

I suffer with this on occasion too, and the best things are peppermint tea and if you can face it to try and eat something light - that usually helps. I know it sounds weird, but it does work. Sometimes you can get nauseous if your blood sugar drops too low.

I used to throw up when I was on my period and finally realised my tummy didn't like the pain killers I was taking. Just mentioning that incase that could be a possibility.

Wouldn't hurt going to the doctors about it.
