The reason why Im curious is that just off my loan, alone I will get £100 a week. I think I will get a job, I will end up spending £70 a week (food, phone, tv, dancing/singing lessons, bus travel, travelling to see my bf)
which will leave me £30 to socialise. I dont drink alcohol at all (for many reasons) so i wont be spending loads on alcohol but i still go out.
how much on average do you spend a week in total? do you think I need a job?

It's easy to spend less. If you don't drink, smoke or drive, and avoid going shopping, you won't spend much.
£30 a week to go out if you don't drink is loads! A meal out, plus a cinema trip, plus the student union usually puts on free or cheap events.
i generally only use it to commute 40 mins home at the weekend to go to work. my insurance is £50 a month, so about £12 a week (ooh never thought of it like that before :grump: ). and then say £5 a week petrol.
eta: i also contribute (when i remember!) £7 to the broadband a month. and then there's my mobile phone bills.
I thought I'd be able to get away with no job but I was very wrong and my overdraft now says so.
