    take more... lol

Although I'm not an expert, I wouldn't recommend this course of action because afaik it can be quite potent under circumstances. Are you on one dosage of 10mg per night? Just reading up on it, it doesn't seem to help you get to sleep but prevents broken sleep.

If you're worried it's not working for you then either your doctor or your GP should be able to help. Also, if you're having problems sleeping the best therapy in my experience is relaxation techniques - wind down before you go to bed and chill out. Do some breathing exercises and get in a thoroughly tranquil state so you feel peaceful before you go to bed, hopefully this should help.

I'm not an expert though, I'd wait for bongbudda's reply..

valium is not a sleeper but a relaxent.
it is highly addictive as well in a far more damaging way than heroin so do be careful.

    have you tried nitrazepam?
mild and very safe but work.

I have trouble sleeping too, but I wouldn't consider diazepam or temazepam as I was heavily addicted to both a few years ago. Better to lose sleep than start taking pills like that IMO. You build up a tolerance to them quite quickly and to take enough to make you sleep would end up needing more and more.

As far as I know, diazepam, temazepam and Valium are pretty much the same thing... Just different "brand" names...

no diazapem and valium are the same ... they are sedatives but temazepam are sleepers. thats what my doc said anyway. i'm only on them short term. i cant keep not sleeping as its affecting my appetite and im losing to much weight. vicious circle.

Not sleeping is affecting your appetite?

Yeah - that is a strange one... No idea what to suggest really, which ain't much help.

I assume that you are getting regular, decent exercise?

10mg is a relatively standard dose for temaz, I've done it once and I didnt like it, too much of a foggy head the next day.

If you are only having sleep issues you might want to ask for Zopiclone instead, its not a benzo and isnt physically addictive so can be used for a little longer. I have found it to be the best sleeping pill I've tried for my insomnia.

it is . Valium is diazepam !!
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
If you take temazepam regularly it will have less effect on you .Especially if you are taking lots at the same time! I should know!! any questions answered.

Valium is more pscyco. addictive than heroin which is mainly physical (apart from the obvious psychological cravings) Diazepam withdrawls consist of serious panic attacks, hallucinations, loss of breath aqnd very often "serious" paranoia. I will answer any questions on my "specialist subject" and believe me i'm qualified to answer!

Not correct, yes they are both psycho active but temazepam are mainly for sleeping and valium is used for anxiety and in some cases (dont ask why!) depression !

Because in some cases its good to give people a break from worrying about their condition, or even really thinking about themselves or anything.

I know but if you know what youre talkin' about then you will know that valium is given for anxiety which in the long run is one of there main side effects ; so you cure the short term problem but create a much bigger one !! :shocking:

10 mg is not a standard dose at all !! 10 mg is what you would get for very mild insomnia and wouldn't put a fly to sleep. Try 100mg and you might be on the right track!!

excercise my ar** . What you need is a dose of good quality tranqs. honest !!!

I think you will find that 100mg is a high end recreational dose for someone with a tolerance. A GP would NEVER give that dose out to start if ever at all.

That is certainly not good advice. Exercise does help and if you can relax then quite often you find it easier to get to sleep and have better quality rest. A low dose is sufficient to relax you.

10mg isnt that low a dose anyway, its the general normal dose as far as I know.
  • Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
If 10mg is a normal dose then i must have a mega tolerance!!
