For one of my GCSE English courseworks, I got an essay off the internet. As i had a lot of work to do at that time, for other subjects, i decided to give that essay in for rough draft and then later on I will change it. the teacher marked it and gave it a grade A.
This monday the teacher informed us that all courseworks will be sent off this friday. Due to some problems we had to complete some of the courseworks which we had not done, in this week. my teacher gave our folders out to see which courseworks were outstanding, which is when i realised i had forgotton to change the internet essay. when i asked my teacher if i could improve it, she said no its too late. today i gave in a changed copy of that essay and i asked her to replace it as i wasnt happy with the other 1. she said i will only replace it if this one is better and i seriously dont think it is as i used simpler language in this 1. i still said 2 her that i would want the new one to be put in, but she just said that i will read over it. i feel like a fool because i should have just confessed but i couldnt draw myself to do it.
incase the new 1 doesnt get put in, COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF THE AUTHORITY/SCHOOL/EXAM BOARD OR WHOEVER, ARE GOING TO KILL ME OR ARE THEY GOING TO KILL ME?

You deserve to be caught, cheaters just mess the grading up for everyone else, not to mention the fact that everyone else actually could be bothered to work.
They won't kill you. You killed yourself by cheating in the first place.
I really hope you have learnt from this experience and that you're not going to consider letting your teacher submit the essay to the exam board.
Best confess.
I actually did this with one essay but i changed a lot of it. Basically it was my own work. I kept the ideas and developed them. I didn't feel guilty because i knew it was 97% my own work.
Keep your mouth shut and swallow your shame, it's only a GCSE so it's not to hardcore. Don't bother cheating again as the more you go up the education ladder the more likly you are to get caught. I think you should just play it out and hope that you dont get caught, if you dont then count yourself lucky. If you do........ :shocking:
Bopz
the honest thing to do is obviously to admit to it.
but i'd say the probability of you getting caught, i'd say is quite small.
and although you probably don't want a guilt trip - what you have done is very wrong, and if you are caught - you should expect some pretty dire consequences.
you've got to take responsibility for your own actions, whatever that means?!
it's up to you to decide what you are going to do.
hope it helped
Teachers in my school have admitted they use the internet to check out coursework because it is very important when they are working out the grade curves etc for A levels/AS/GCSE in chief examiner's reports.
If your coursework has been sent off as part of the sample rest assured you will be caught.
for my composition 2 for music gcse, i copied a piece of music from an old music book of mine, which i changed slightly. if my composition is moderated i'll get caught won't i?
will i get thrown off all of my gcse courses?
oh ok so they didn't get away with it but it took them ages to get caught out.
chill... if it happens it happens if not waaahaaay.
just don't do it again it ain't worth the stress

if by some chance you do manage to get away with it, you will feel guilty forever more, coz you will always be reminded of it when applying for college, uni and jobs x
music is a bit different, if you have made it sound different and not yet done the write up for it, i would recommend quoting the piece of music, and saying you have done a variation of it, and then babble on about how you have made it better!
Every time you post something you seem to plumb new depths of arrogant pretentious stupidity. When will you stop, because I keep being astounded at your new lows.
If you've changed most of t, I can see it really mattering.
IIRC, you'll only get kicked off the one GCSE - unless you've cheated in all your ther exams and coursework.
I did my GCSE's 3 years ago and didn't dare to copy a thing - and I'm no geek. I just decided I wanted to be proud of my results and to be able to honestly say that I worked hard for them.
I hope you all get caught. I don't care one bit how harsh that sounds.
I'm the same - I'm doig my GCSEs nw (firs exam is end of May) and haven't copied anything and don't dare to. At the end of the day, the exam boards are seeing how well YOU do and not what everyone else does. Yeah, I got alot of help with my work but I do what I can and have done the work myself.
