Twitching. Really not funny :(

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I thought the twitching I've been getting for a few weeks was stopping... that was until it all started again... EVEN WORSE than before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's really really annoying me! :( It keeps stopping me sleeping. I get this sort of buzzing feeling down the inside of my left calf muscle as well.

Last week only my right eye kept twitching and now it's mainly in my legs... most of them arn't painful but it's really unplesant, I've started to have two places twitching at the same time as well now and then when they stop something else starts!!! :impissed:

Last night my left leg was going crazy and I'd just finally nodded off (about 3 in the morning) when the whole calf seized up really painfully... I can still feel the after-effects. Then I didn't get back to sleep for well over an hour. :crying:

It's just really draining me and I don't know why it keeps happening. The doctor tested my calcium levels and they're normal so she said the only thing she could think of is that it must be the pill that's doing it. If it was some kind of hormonal thing would it make sense that it suddenly got worse on my seven day break? It's really confusing.

I'm also wondering if it's because I've been more active with starting yoga and trying to get out more now I'm not too depressed to leave the house.

I'm worried that something else is going wrong with my body, it really feels like it's going crazy and it's uncontrollable... Does anyone know of reasons why this keeps happening and coming and going??? It feels rediculous but it's really starting to make me worry. :nervous:

I don't supose anyone else gets the same thing do they?

Lu

P.S. Should I mention this before I have my op???

Are you a nervous person? Do you smoke cannabis? Do you take anti-depressents?

    None of the above.

Btw, it's muscle twitches, not like ticks.

Where do they happen most often?

    (I mean what location)

    What time of day?

When they started they were all over... face, arms, tummy, legs, feet... Now they just seem to be in my legs mostly (and bum  ) but mostly my left leg as well.

Oh and they happen pretty much constantly, but at night I notice them more cos when I'm lying still they go on for longer and stop me sleeping. :grump:

Having watched the news, is it safe to assume you've not been bitten by a Brazilian wandering spider?

I meant like what room in the house or wherever. :)

    Guess you answered my question.

It's just a sign of deep relaxation for most people. You can get the same effect by concentrating on relaxing the muscles in your hand (or wherever)for a few minutes. It's also sometimes triggered by epilepsy type effect from over watching TV or playing videogames.

I would deffo ask your doctor for another opinion. "I don't know" shouldn't be an answer without a refferral to someone who might. (IMHO)

Not a serious thing, but it's quality of life innit!

I half agree, but 'I don't know' is at least an honest answer. Not all things need referral to a "specialist".

Yeah and thank god for that, I'm seeing enough bloody specialists as it is!

The twitches seem to have settled down a bit for now anyway. Think it might just be one of those weird things that comes and goes. Maybe it's dietry.
