Today i got a reply for the arts institute in Bournemouth saying their not going to give me a interview for a FdA in Professional Photography and said a art foundation course would be better (which is practicaly the same) .
The thing is I REALY want to do the photography course, I'm so p--sed off I want to drop out of 6th form. Is it still possable to do the course like any loop holes, I want to go because Bournemouth have a good Reputation. (p.s I applied throu this course via UCAS route
I also have to wait for a reply from Southampton for more of the same course, does it have the same sort of Reputation as Bournemouth?

Why cant you do the foundation course?
Bopz
Well if they dont let me do a foundation degree in photography , they prob. wont let me in for a arts foundation its the same level/entry(Bournemouth that is). I would rather do a photography course rather then an arts one, because I want to work in that area
Also you must make the distinction between the unis as they are VERY differant, i don't mean that in a bad way, just the excell in differant things as such.
Good luck, go do it.

Foundation years are good because you can switch to any specialism within the arts after it. It gives you an opportunity to sample everything so you're definite in the direction you pursue. All good art schools prefere it in addition to A-Levels, so don't look at it in a bad way.
yup foundation courses are good and teach you a good variety of skills everyone i know who done one landed up choosing better things to do at degree level and they were generally more competant
