I just looked in my email Spam folder and found this:

"Dear Friend.

My name is Mr. Peter Kwame.I am the Eastern region branch manager of the
Barclays Bank of Ghana ltd, in West Africa.I am a Christian. I do not want
problems but I just hope you can assist me. I write you this letter in good faith.

I am in control of the sum of three million, eight hundred and fifty
thousand US dollars ($3,850,000.00) which was an excess of profit made by our
Eastern region branch office in the last quarter of the year 2003, which I havecarefully placed in an Escrow Call Deposit Account and did not declare
this to my head office, Can I really trust you to hold this money for me until I arrive your country and pick it up myself and you deduct 30% of the
total money as your commission?

All I need is for you to get me a good current account in your bank
where I can move this money I will discreetly give you all the information
concerning the account and the deposit so that you can apply to the bank for the release of the money. There is practically no risk involved; it will be simple bank-to-bank transfer. I hope you understand my situation.

Take my word.

Thank you and God bless.

Yours truly,
Mr Peter Kwame.

Shit, those things are lame. I had one and was tempted to screw him over. But I couldn't be bothered.

I love the phising emails with just a picture that looks liek an email your meant to click on then fill in your details. Especially when it says "Halifax Bank Detials" and is from "dodgey_dave_9854@yahoo.com". Hmm... :chin:

I just thought i'd add that for those who don't know - the US treasury actually has a team dedicated to hunting down the perpetrators of this type of fraud, known technically as the 'Nigerian Advance Fee 419 Fraud'. Apparently, thousands of American citizens have been scammed.... I wonder how....

Hehe. They're such bollocks. I've had a fair few in my time...

The most entertaining thing to do is reply and have a fair old laugh.... eventually you'll get them inviting you to Nigeria to meet the 'government officials' who're trying to 'filter off excess profit' - then they tell you that no visa will be required, even though to enter Nigeria without a visa is a VERY serious crime....

Theyre a con. I saw a documentary once, a reporter answerd it. He went across the world to "help" them. When he got there he was told he'd need to pay a fee, but can be assured his money. He paid the fee and did'nt get anything back.
