This is just a little comment but all the same...
there seems to be a perception among the student crowd that all other students are easy going, intelligent, honest well meaning individuals...
This is not the case...there are nice students and not nice students just the same as everyone else...
Im in a good Uni and already this year we've had a blade pulled at a halls party, a flat burgled (no, not just ransacked, properly burgled..) by students...numerous petty thefts and fights...
im not running them down or anything i'd just like to speak out against the perception that all students are nice...some arent...some are cunts....just like the rest of society...

To be honest, I have never really heard that perception. I always thought that a lot of students had a bad name because of some of the idiots out there.
I don't know what prompted this outburst but yes, there are some arses who are students but don't tarnish all students with the same brush. As you say, there are some nice students, some horrible students, like any other group of people in any walk of life.
Although having said that the one negative thing I experienced from other students I'm sort of glad for, there were a few kids who were relatively racist towards me. Thats not something I'd come across before and it was rather interesting, good to know how it feels and all that.
I don't think "students" are any worse or better than any other young people in society, they just have more free time, and go out on week nights rather than weekends.
OK, maybe thats an odd way of putting it, but as a white English male I dont get racial abuse so it was interesting to see what it was like.
I should point out it wasnt anything nasty, they just made it bloody clear that because of who I was they wanted nothing to do with me.
