Ok, whilst playing Runescape I get an error message of sorts, Its just a blank white box with the word 'Close' In a button at the bottom, I can't even take a screen shot of the fecking thing.

It stops me playing the game and I have to restart my PC every time this happens just so I can play Runescape again :grump:

    Have you got recent graphics / Direct X drivers?

    Yup, all the latest. Direct X 8 I think, if not 9 And despite having a rather old Graphics card (GeForce2 MX) I've had no troubles playin any other games. Runescape is online as others that I play are from CD's / Preinstalled.

    Take a digicam pic of the screen...

    All patches to the lastest version? It might be sound drivers, I had to update mine before Half Life 2 would play. Try to update any drivers you can, sound and graphics should be the only ones though.

    Scandisk your PC for disk errors, odd, but my file system crashed once. Randomness. Your install might be corrupted to, reinstall or repair if possible.

    Otherwise, meh.

    I dont have a digi cam.

    I just installed the latest Graphics drivers to be sure and Its made my Internet connection run at a snails pace. Feck.

    GAH!!??1/1 again, it's been fine for about a week. Now its done it again. I despise my computer oh so much.

    Anyone got any clues?

    That looks annoyingly odd.

    I'm not sure why it would happen though. It looks like the sort of window you used to get in 16 bit applications were it would say that an exception had occured, or that windows was unstable and would shut down.

    Memory / heat issues or something?

    Possibly memory but I'm not running many active programs.

    And as far as I know heat hasn't been an issue.

    Yup, and an annoying one at that, have to restart everytime this error occurs. If I still wanna play the game that is.

    You could always try reinstalling windows. ;)

    No CD, and its not really worth it, as soon as my mum gets her back rent thru I'm building a new PC.
