'Head on the Door' is a good album to start with and 'Wish' is another favorite of mine. Theres a huge catalogue, hard to pick out specific albums I like all of them in some way.

I've only heard 3 of their songs... One I love, one I hate and one I like ("Friday I'm in love", "Lullaby" and "alt.end" in that order).

Disintigration & Japanese Whispers are good.

lullaby was the first song i heard by the cure and i fell in love instantly. I love the lyrics especially, and robert smith's voice is yummy. lullaby is on the album Disintegration - which is not the cure's most famous album, but is definately worth a listen.

also on that album is Pictures Of You, which breaks my heart every time i hear it.

anyway - the answer is that you need EVERY album. i have all but one -- and i'm working on getting the last one.

i would recommend Wrong Number (which is my favourite cure song), and also Inbetween Days, Close To Me, Boys Don't Cry, Love Song.

Close to Me is the song I was going to single out as well, as it's my favourite of theirs - so pretty and relaxing.

Oh, also forgot about Catch, which is fantastic. And Just Like Heaven which is, aptly, divine. :)

    Disintegration is my favourite, personally.

    Especially 'Pictures of You'.

I'm a bit surprised Pictures of You didn't make it onto their Greatest Hits...

Inbetween Days, A Forest, Just Say Yes, Just Like Heaven, Lovesong, Friday I'm in Love, all excellent.

The Twilight Garden is also, if i can remember, worth a mention...i can recall taking note of the intro anyway.
