Ooh, the link is good :)

a good way of getting started is looking througth the Guardian on a Wednesday ( G2 ) as they have local projects looking to fill spaces. More often that not, they'll provide in-house training sessions for the uninitiated.

If considering an oversea's posting, then more often that not you'll have to have specialist skills or have gained TEFL.

Has anyone here worked in an Aid camp?

I thought it was year of the Rooster, Chinese New Year. Was that the 11th?

    Anyway...
So they've given up doing "Week of ...." and now they're doing "Year of ..." things? Hmm. Can't see the point, most people will forget anyway. I usually do by mid week.

I would disagree with a point in that article many under 16s can volunteer they just chose to or that would be my experience, i run many local clubs for children to get involved with to help others and i am quite shocked to see that many kids just couldnt give a s**t

I volunteer every night at some organisation, and i have to say the best i have ever worked with is Lions International, if anyone is interested contact your local lions!

The lions clubs were the first to give aid to the tsunami, 6 hours after the wave struck!

If anyone wants to get involved locally with a voluntary organisation PM me and i will send you a local address and number to contact.
