I just realised - since I'm now 19 do I have to do something specific to keep getting my prescriptions for free (I'm a full time student). Is there a form or something?
I should be looking on the NHS website shouldn't I? Ah well, now I've written it, I'll post it - maybe I can answer my own question and help someone else...

Oh shit I can't move this now can I?!
HC1 form is available from most pharmacies/doctors surgeries.
You have to fill in forms, plead poverty, and sell your soul to the devil.
But you get free prescriptions.
Prescription Charges - a Stargalaxy thread
- If you're 17/18/19 and in full time education - free.
- If you're 17/18/19 and not in full time education - the price of a normal prescription - around £6. Anyone over 18 - normal price.
- Contraception is free, and OAP's get free prescriptions.
Also prescriptions and dental appointments for anyone under 25 in Wales are free, and for anyone over 60.
Scottish charges are the same as English ones. (as far as I know)
You still have to fill in the HC1 form though.
The form to get you free prescriptions is based on pretty much the same means as the Student Loan - so if you get full loan, you should get free prescriptions. If you only get the minimum loan, you'll have to pay. It's not too bad though, I think it's £6odd for a prescription and I've only had to get one in 13 months.
Didn't realise the pill was free, that's pretty cool.
Just because you don't get the full loan there is no harm in applying. It is based on your income. If you don't get enough money each month/whatever then you don't need to pay.
