Watch it, it's okay. little gory. how much did you pay for it because anything more than 3 quid is too much, lass.
This film is so overhyped it's it's not even funny.
oo, not great hun. If you wanna get a good movie next time feel free to pm me anytime. I'm a film fnaatic. I love a good movie. :thumb:
the british version does have some parts cut out of it tho, doesnt really effect the film that much but does make it slightly easier to watch. dont send it back, well not before you watch it anyway. gets a big :thumb: from me. and if you like this you should check out some other horror/slasher classics.
im gonna watch LHoTL tonight now
Nightmare on Elm Street, Serpent and the Rainbow, People Under the Stairs and Scream are the best movies he made in my opinion and other than Serpent and the Rainbow they all get worse with each viewing.
Last House on the Left is interesting more as an example of just how badly women were treated in American low budget films in the early 70s, so it's probably worth a watch, but be warned it's nothing nice to see.
i dont think the actresses were badly treated while making the film, if you have a look on the SE dvd, theres interviews with the cast saying how enjoyable it was and how they loved the low budget family atmosphere. altho one of the men was very weird, think it was the dumb one in the movie who went on to be a hardcore porn star/director/producer.
i like wes craven, even some of the lower class stuff he's done ive enjoyed. certainly not as much as cronenberg, shivers, rabid, scanners and videodrome are among my fave movies ever. his later stuff is gash however.
john carpenter however, not a fan. loved Big trouble in little china. the thing was ok. cristine and assault on precinct 13 were so so. just my 2 cents.
For example the final 30 minutes of Texas Chainsaw, Last House on the Left, I Spit on your Grave, the final moments of Cannibal Holocaust, the rape scene in the otherwise relatively softcore Emmanuelle, Terror at the Opera, Death Wish.
Even in those movies you could call 'revenge' themed - Death Wish, I Spit on your Grave; the final payoff doesn't really justify the excessive scenes that preceed it - especially Chainsaw and Death Wish 2
