    Shouldn't have any. He's an ex-Minister and there's no evidence that it in any way effected his job (he was useless with or without HIV).

    Though I understand his reasoning for not telling Blair. I mean to be the first openly gay minister, and then also having HIV, is just to play on a stereotype really.
    Plus, as long as it doesn't affect his job then it doesn't really matter.

    Perhaps it will improve public knowledge of HIV and AIDS.

    Perhaps he's writing his autobiography.

    nah he decided to come public after finding out about nelson mandelas son, the only effect i can see it having is showing us that people can live a normal live with the virus (if you have access to the drugs though).
