21?

Indrid ColdIndrid Cold Posts: 16,688 Skive's The Limit
Gah, this is the stupidest thread EVER...

I asked that in the one about Hermione, but of course no one checks the answers on a bday thread, so I don't know of any other way to ask it.
What's so special about turning 21, that isn't there when you turn 20 or 22?

Most people think that you're an adult at 21.

I don't know, it's just another number, like the big 18th birthday.

That's what I meant, it used to be. I simply didn't understand what makes it different than 20 or 22 now that that age is 18.

    hmm..

    it's pretty funny over here...

10 is a big birthday b/c you're in the double digits..
    and then 13 is a big birthday b/c you're a "teen" now..
and then 16 is a big birthday b/c you can get your license...
then 17 is a big birhtday b/c you can watch r-rated movies..
and then 18 b/c you're legally ana dult... and you can do tons more stuff..
then 19.. b/c you can go to canada and get drunkl..
then 21 b/c legal drinking age over here...

and then 29.. b/c after that you stop celebrating your birthday...

    10 I'll agree with, as with 13
16 because you're legal to have sex, smoke and play the lottery, also end of compulsory education.
    18 Adulthood
    20, end of teens
    21 coming of age

Maybe 15, because there's the film certificate
17 also, because of driving the cars

That reminds me of a line from a TV series (which is possibly copied from one of yours). There's a little girl and baby sitter talking:
    -How old are you?
    -Let me put it this way: When you're 10, I'll be 30. When you're 20, I'll be 30. When you're 30, you'll understand why I'll still be 30.
^(For the record, that kind of thinking is very stupid, IMHO)

You get a card with your age on the front AND a badge to. Enjoy it, next time that happens you will be 40 ;)

oh my goodness, in America you stop celebrating your birthday when you're 29? Aw how sad! I want to celebrate my birthdays forever! Well until I die of course.
