I've just applied for this course and wondered if anyone else has applied, done it or had an interview. If I get through the application stage I'm really worried about what to expect from the interview, anyone got any information on it?

Cheers

    I applied too.

I was at a talk about it a few weeks ago and, off the top of my head, I remember the interview was split into 3 stages - standard interview situation, a 5 minute presentation, and a group problem solving type task. Pretty intense, but its so competitive so I guess it needs to be...

Thanks. The more I read about what has to be done before actually gaining a place on the course terrifies me! But I worked as a classroom assistant in a high school at the beginning of the year and just gained a placement at a primary school starting in January. Also been helping out at Brownies and Rainbows, so hopefully this will be enough experience.

How did you get into teaching english and job skills to asylums seekers?Sounds like it would be a good thing to do.

I am doing BEd Primary, i chose this due to the preference by many headteachers, the PGCE is seen for as a specialist degree yet the BEd is very child based, learning much about the job. The entrance to PGCE is very intense, but then so it the actual course you are expected to fit 4 years into one, not an easy task so they do look for motivation. I myself had brownies as an experience, do as much as you can and they wont turn you away.
