Are there any genuine Duty Free Bargain Airports out there?

I flew from Gatwick and recon apart from ciggies and some drinks everything else is priced more then in the high street and certainly I can buy electronics (cameras, MP3 players, portable DVD players, laptops, etc) cheaper from the net.

We also stopped at Bharain and that was even worse, everything was well oevr priced.

I hear singapore is good, any ideas? Some people say you can get laptops like half the price you pay here which considering the saving could pay for the holiday too!!

I've heard the Far East is the place for duty free or cheap electronics.

BUT, you have to be seriously careful about what you buy, not all of it will work over here and take the right DVD's for example.

As for booze and cigs, most flights outside of the EU will offer decent deals.

Heathrow does a good 2 x litre bottles for £20, especially when you buy Absolute or Bombay Gin because they are close to double that in the shops.

There is no duty free inside the EU.

Tax free inside the EU? Are you sure of that? I know they sell booze and cig's normally cheaper but that doesnt mean that they are tax free.

Like what you buy at the airport and on board the aircraft?
I don't think so. Not if you're flying within the EU.

Where were you going to and from to get this tax free offer?

It isn't tax free. It usually will be cheaper though (that goes for cigarettes, alcohol and cosmetics - the rest is usually more expensive in airports).

Actually this is what I found cheap

Bharain - Coke, and other soft drinks and chocolates like Mars, Snickers, etc

Toronto - Clinic Clarifying Lotion - about half the UK price I think!!!

    Kenya - World Space Radios

Goa - Brandy was way cheap!!
