Somalia

What do you know about the country and what do you think of it?
I’m trying to read all available news and ask Somali guys about it.
For me things that happen in Somalia are more important than American or Ukrainian elections, EU constitution, UK’s move toward police state, terrorism, growth of China and India, even Iraq war. A little beam of hope in this dark world.
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

I can't say it's high on my agenda.

    What's so important then?

It doesn’t matter. Jam is always good. Thank you for the advice :)

“Somalia is the only country in the world where there is no government“ - BBC.

I think about it but I can’t afford it now. I’m too busy with studying and working and I have not enough cash for the trip. Plus I would have to buy two tickets, one for a Somali guy, but although I have Somali pals I don’t have real friends yet. Everybody needs local friend there, not because of language so on but because Somalia is a dangerous place but if you have Somali friend you are under protection of his clan.

    From the bbc
Somalia was without an effective central government for much of the 1990s, after President Siad Barre was overthrown in 1991.
Fighting between rival warlords and inability to deal with famine and disease led to the death of up to one million people

You have a very strange concept of 'hope' - having war lords rule over you instead of an elected state doesn't seem preferable to me at all.....

A real ray of light then.

So you admit a nation without govt is more dangerous?

    Not so fast.......

Would you like a list of dangerous countries with states?

Somalia is not an anarchist society - its a mess run by warlords

Thats all nice theory etc etc

But why when you get down to it would things actually be differnet in an anarchist society?

Surely any country without a proper govt is an example of what an anarchist society could become.

Isn't it defeating the objective to say 'an anarchist society will be like this'?

That not very anarchic is it?

Can you quote the bit where it says what an anarchist society will be like please ?

Oh yes, and well done on the speedreading......

    ;)

Well frankly I haven't got the time to read it, care to summarise the point you were trying to make when you referenced it then?

The point I was making my dear sir is that there are no easy, snappy one line answers - no-one is going to tell you what an anarchist society will look like - if you want the answer to your question you need to go do some reading......

You clearly haven't grasped the concept yet.

    :)

You're mixing up "anarchy" with "anarchism".
